Five-year-old Neena Sasaki

Neena Sasaki, 5, carries some of the family belongings from her home that was destroyed after the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Rikuzentakata, Miyagi province, Japan. Thousands have been killed after the 8.9 earthquake struck the northeast coast of Japan 4 days ago. Presently the country is struggling to contain a potential nuclear meltdown after the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant was seriously damaged from the earthquake.
