A sheriff's deputy was shot in the leg at the Forsyth County, Georgia, courthouse on Friday, and a suspect in the incident was dead, WSB-TV news reported.
The deputy's injuries did not appear life-threatening, the station reported.
The courthouse, about 40 miles northeast of Atlanta, was evacuated and remained closed as police searched for possible explosives, the station said.
The injured deputy is a 25-year veteran of the sheriff's department, according to reports.
