Nearly 1,200 Baltimore properties currently receive a tax break under a city program aimed at encouraging historic renovations. The list includes many familiar buildings. Here is a selection.

Stieff Silver building, Wyman Park Drive
The 1920s-era former Stieff Silver factory on Wyman Park Drive was rehabbed a decade ago by developer Struever Bros., Eccles & Rouse. The building, whose iconic lighted sign is visible from the Jones Falls Expressway, has tenants including the Johns Hopkins University Whiting School of Engineering.
