A flawed, inconsistent police response to sexual assault in Maryland

Hogan to officially announce run for governor

Larry Hogan, chairman of the conservative activist group Change Maryland, will officially announce on January 21 he is a Republican candidate for governor.

The former appointments secretary to Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. sent an e-mail to supporters Sunday saying he would make the announcement at Mike's Restaurant & Crab House in Riva.

Hogan said in November that he planned to seek the nomination.

He will join a field that includes Harford County Executive David R. Craig, Del. Ron George of Anne Arundel County and Charles County business executive Charles Lollar. The filing deadline is Feb. 25.
