At fundraiser for the same-sex marriage campaign Monday night, the two showed off their competitive streaks at Mothers Federal Hill Grille in Baltimore by playing the mini-soccer game.
O'Malley was overheard saying he was new to the game. Bad luck for him, Ayanbadejo had clearly played before. The professional athlete won.
The event was designed to reward those who'd given between $5 and $50 to Marylanders for Marriage Equality, and about 30 donors were picked by lottery to attend. They mingled with O'Malley and Ayanbadejo, who both lingered at the event for more than two hours.
Proponents of same-sex marriage aren't the only ones with a Ravens player on the roster. Opponents put out a video last week featuring Ravens center Matt Birk explaining why he supports traditional marriage.
So we have an idea: How about a foosball tourny? O'Malley and Ayanbadejo v. Baltimore Archbishop William E. Lori and Birk.
Let us know.
