Sen. Brian E. Frosh has taken a commanding lead in fund-raising over at least two of his rivals in the Democratic race for attorney general, according to campaign finance reports filed Wednesday.
Frosh, a veteran lawmaker from Motgomery County, has $795,900 in the bank, compared with $374,000 for Del. Jon Cardin of Baltimore County. Del. C. William Frick of Montgomery County reported that he had $133,000 in the bank.
A fourth candidate, Del. Aisha Braveboy of Prince George's County, had not reported as of late afternoon. The deadline for disclosing fund-raising and spending over the past year is midnight.
Frosh reported that he raised $582,000 and spent $177,000. Cardin took in $419,000 and spent $215,000. Frick raised $109,000 while spending almost $37,000.
No Republican has announced plans to run for the office, which has been held by Democrats for most of the past century.
