Grain alcohol would be outlawed in Maryland under a bill that passed the House Thursday. The vote was 103-30.
Similar legislation has already passed the Senate. It would bar retail sales of any drink that’s 190-proof or more, containing at least 95 percent alcohol.
The ban was sought by the state’s university presidents, who were seeking to curb binge drinking on campus. Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia already ban grain alcohol.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
