On Tuesday, Boeing became the latest victim of the hacker activist group Anonymous.
The YourAnonNews Twitter account announced they had taken down the aircraft manufacturer’s website about 12:40 p.m., saying: “Tango Down http://www.boeing.com by #Anonymous for #OpDefense”
The UK’s International Business Times reported Boeing.com was down for approximately two hours.
The attack on Boeing, and a slew of other companies in recent months, is the means by which Anonymous is protesting the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA).
CISPA would, among other things, give businesses the right to share information about cyber threats. Some have criticized the bill as being too lax on the type of private information the government would be allowed to monitor.
Boeing has yet to publicly comment on the cyber attack and Boeing.com was operating normaly Wednesday morning.
