All the scoring between the Lions and Wildecats occured in the first 20 seconds of the game on Friday. After that, neither team found the net again and the two squads were forced to settle for the tie.

Denzel Pinyin scored just 12 seconds after the opening kick-off to put Wilde Lake on the board. But Howard answered immediately, getting a goal from Monssef Marrakchi off an assist from Mark Bruner just six seconds after the Wildecats’ goal.

The rest of the way, Wilde Lake goalie Gerald Van Tassell (11 saves) and Howard goalie Colin Sutch (7) did their part to keep the game tied.

After falling behind 3-0, the Golden Bears rallied thanks to three unanswered goals from Anderson Marroquin to force overtime. In the end, the game ended in a 3-3 tie. Cesar Torres and Ivan Osemobor had assists for Hammond, while goalie Brandon Eschman made six saves.

For Oakland Mills, Vlad Bruno scored twice and James Casseus added the team’s other goal on the way to the early lead. Scorpions’ goalie Toby Baldwin finished with seven saves.
