The Vikings emerged victorious in penalty kicks, with goalie Sohraab Sidhu making three saves in the shootout.

After regulation, the game was tied 2-2 thanks to a goal in the final minutes of the second half by Leonardtown. Trevor Namie and David Velazquez scored the Mt. Hebron goals during regulation. On the season, the Vikings are now 2-0.

The Gators got goals from Rudy Ventura and Debruyn Cedeno on the way to the victory.

Rudy Ventura, who scored a pair of goals in the win, was named MVP of the Sparrows Point Tournament.

Field Hockey:

Marriotts Ridge (0-0 county, 2-1 overall) — 5, Liberty — 4 (2OT)

The Mustangs emerged victorious in double overtime, double strokes thanks to a conversion from Elle Clevenger.

The two teams had each made two in the first round of strokes, with Marriotts Ridge’s Clevenger and Gracie Kennedy finding the goal and Liberty’s Christine Goetz and Bronin Ward matching.

During regulation, the two teams played to a 2-2 draw. Emma Gladstein scored both goals for Marriotts Ridge, while Caroline Evans had the goals for Liberty.

Goals: MR – Gladstein 2, Clevenger 2, Kennedy; L – Evans 2, Goetz, Ward.

Camden Blevins scored the lone goal for the Eagles off an assist from Annabel Baldy.

After a scoreless regulation, the Eagles made all four of their kicks in the shootout to emerge victorious. Centennial goalie Ashley Bilger also came up big during regulation and during penalty kicks to earn the win.

Bilger, a sophomore, stopped a penalty kick by making a diving save with 15 seconds left in regulation. She then made a strong play on the ensuing corner kick to keep the game tied.

Then in the shootout, Bilger saved the first kick. Catonsville also had a shot go off the cross bar in penalty kicks.

The Vikings won their opening game at the Catonsville tournament behind goals from Allie Ritter, Mia Flack and Julz Lamparella.
