Two people were found dead in an overturned and submerged vehicle in the Little Patuxent River near Centennial Park and the Fairway Hills Golf Course Friday afternoon, according to county police.

Timothy Antonio Jones, 35, of Baltimore, and Rickell Tareka Brown, 23, of Columbia, were found dead inside the vehicle, a 2006 Acura TL, police said.

It was located by a pedestrian walking in the area at about 12:50 p.m.

Police believe the crash occurred early Friday morning. Officers are investigating.

Police said it appears the vehicle went off an overpass on Route 108, between Columbia Road and Woodland Road, southwest of Ellicott City, and landed in the water.

Emergency crews worked to remove the vehicle from the river Friday afternoon.

The westbound lanes of Route 108, between Columbia and Woodland roads, reopened around 5 p.m. on Friday after being closed for approximately two and a half hours.
