A motorcyclist was killed Tuesday in an accident on Route 29 southbound in Montgomery County, according to Montgomery County Police.
The single-vehicle accident, which occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m., caused a temporary closure of Route 29 southbound near the Howard County line.
Traffic is being redirected on to Maryland Route 216, police said.
Information regarding the cause of the accident and whether the driver was wearing a helmet was not made available by police.
Police believe the male victim was the only person involved in the accident.
An expected time for the road to reopen has not been determined, police said.
