Have breakfast with St. Nick at St. Andrew's [Lisbon/Woodbine]

St. Andrew's Episcopal Church will hold its Breakfast with St. Nicholas on Dec. 7 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. A delicious breakfast will be served for adults fir $8 and children under ten for $6. St. Nicholas will visit during the breakfast.

There will be crafts for the children and holiday items for the adults to purchase. The children can also shop for their parents for gifts priced at $1. Bring your camera to capture these special moments.

The Columbia Pro Cantare will perform its Christmas presentation of Parts II and III of Handel's "Messiah" on Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Jim Rouse Theatre at Wilde Lake. Barbara Renton will present a pre-concert lecture at 6:30 p.m. There will also be a post-concert reception. The theater is at 5460 Trumpeter Road in Columbia. Congratulations go to Zoe Gonzalez, a student at Bushy Park Elementary School, who is one of the winners of the Howard County 2013 Recycling Coloring Book Contest. The coloring books will be available for free in early December at the Offices of the Bureau of Environmental Services, at 6751 Columbia Gateway Drive, Suite 514, in Columbia.

The Glenelg United Methodist Church will hold its second annual Child Care While You Shop charity fundraiser on Dec. 7 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Volunteers will watch your children while you go shopping.

Children will be treated to stories, snacks, crafts, games and outdoor activities, weather permitting. The cost is $25 for the first child, $10 for the second child, and $40 for a family.
