Junior Girl Scout Troop 2352 from Lisbon was the top selling troop for Girl Scout cookie sales in Howard County for the second consecutive year.
The Troop is led by Suzanne Clemons and Stacie Stolba. The Scouts set a goal for selling 3,500 boxes of cookies. Of the 10 Girl Scouts, nine sold 200 boxes. Four of the nine sold over 500 boxes, and three sold over 700 boxes.
The results of all their efforts is that the troop sold over 5,000 boxes of cookies. The Troop's top seller was Morgan Stolba, who sold 2,016 boxes.
These Girl Scouts went even further by giving back to the community. People who purchased the cookies donated them back to the Troop for a program known as Gifts from the Heart. The cookies were donated to hometown heroes such as teachers, police officers, firefighters and military members.
One of the highlights of their year was when the Scouts were invited to the Army base at Fort Meade to deliver 300 boxes of cookies to members of the U.S. Army. Profits from the cookie sales went to purchase food for the food pantry at St. Michael's Church and to purchase gifts for children in the Head Start program.
Congratulations to Troop 2352 for a job well done.
