How does Marriotts Ridge High School end up with so many award-winning vocalists and vocal ensembles? One explanation may lie in the partnership between the high school and its feeder schools (Burleigh Manor Middle, Mt. View Middle, Manor Woods Elementary, Waverly Elementary and West Friendship Elementary).
For the fourth year in a row, these schools will unite to present a Choral Cluster Concert, scheduled for Friday, Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. in the Marriotts Ridge auditorium. Each chorus will perform separately and then join together for a rousing finale. The concert provides a wonderful experience for the students, as well as delightful entertainment for the audience. Admission is free.
Student instrumentalists at West Friendship Elementary School are excitedly preparing for their Winter Band and Strings Concert on Wednesday, Jan. 15. They will first perform at 2:30 p.m. for the teachers and students, and they will take the stage again at 7 p.m. for their family members and other supporters. To learn more, call the school at 410-313-5512.
Our winter landscape may look bleak, but the Marriotts Ridge Music Foundation is selling a taste of Florida sunshine in the form of sweet, juicy citrus fruit. This month's products include navel oranges, ruby red grapefruit, tangerines, a variety pack and even something new — Mandarin oranges! The ordering deadline is Monday, Jan. 13, and pickup will take place at the school sometime between Thursday, Jan. 23, and Sunday, Jan. 26 (exact date and time to be announced).
