Reservoir High's ice hockey club shows its stuff [Fulton/Highland]

The Reservoir High School Ice Hockey Club skated to a 6-6 tie in its first game of the season. Playing against the WHO Club (Wilde Lake, Hammond, Oakland Mills), it was an exciting game with the fast-paced action that makes this game such an attraction.

Goals for Reservoir were scored by Brendan Hankins, Trent Teodori, Luke Roarty and Chris Moon. Rohan Kuruvilla (2), Luke Roarty, Nick Dively, Brian David and Chris Moon all had assists.

Trent Teodori scored his first hat trick (3 goals) for the season. Kris Westland, making his debut as goalie, stopped12 shots. Congratulations to the players and their coaches Matty Valvano and John Perfetto!

The Lime Kiln Middle School students of the week for the week ending Nov. 15 are Zeeyada Gebru, Grace Smith, Kayla Smith, Alison Villafuerte, William Watts, Tyler Yost and Ryan Van Gieson.

It's getting to be the time of the year when schools put on their winter festivals and churches have their Christmas shows. Connie Ballinger, a member of Glen Mar United Methodist Church, is pleased to invite the community to "Walk to Bethlehem" on Dec. 6, 7 and 8 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Visitors will "journey through outdoor settings where actors, clad in period costumes, will portray scenes leading up to and immediately following the birth of Jesus. Live farm animals will enhance the rustic settings".

After the walk, you can continue your "first-century experience at an indoor marketplace that abounds with carpenters, weavers, jugglers, Roman soldiers, pottery makers, musicians and knitters." Go to for more information or to see a slideshow of the 2012 event.
