At Reservoir High School, the varsity football team won its homecoming game against Howard High — the first homecoming win in four years.
Starting with the first play of the game, Reservoir showed the team was out to win. Dominic Lopes scored on the first kickoff of the game after he ripped the football out of the arms of the Howard kickoff returner and ran thirty yards for the touchdown. Zach Romer kicked the extra point, giving the Gators the lead, 7-0.
Senior Avian White had had 27 carries for 176 yards and scored the only touchdown by the RHS offense. The Gator defense showed their mettle when, for several plays in a row, they held the Howard Lions at the one-yard line and kept the Lions out of the end-zone late in the fourth quarter.
Key contributions came from Sean Davis, Grant McMullan and Jack Dudzinski in the defensive stand helping to put the Gators in a position to win the game. Cornerbacks Bryan Sosoo and Craig Jones also helped defend against Howard's last effort late in the fourth. The Gators have improved their record to 4-2. Congratulations.

The Boys Varsity Soccer Team recently had a couple of outstanding games. The first game was against the Oakland Mills Scorpions with the Reservoir Gators winning 3-1. Michael Peprah scored two goals with assists from Emilio Rodas and Carvell Akuffo. An insurance goal was added in the second half by Serigne Gueye who converted a corner kick from Emilio Rodas. Goalie Kyle Kroll made some very nice saves, allowing only one goal. A few nights later, the team followed that victory up with another one over the Long Reach Lightning, winning 2-1. Off a corner kick by Emilio Rodas, Kyle Saunderson headed the ball in for the first goal. Emilio also scored on a penalty kick. Congratulations to the team and Coaches Reg Hahne and Jason Hall.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
