Here's a chance for those of you that are interested to take part in our own spring cleaning. Come rain or shine, the annual clean-up of the Triadelphia Lake watershed is April 13 from 9 a.m. to noon.
You can meet up with like-minded neighbors at the parking areas of either the Pigtail, at the end of Greenbridge Road, or Big Branch, on Triadelphia Mill Road, just east of the bridge.
Dress appropriately (old clothes, good boots). The Washington Suburban Sanitation Commission will provide trash bags and some gloves (bring your own, if you have them). They will also collect the bagged trash.
Come and work the entire time or just part of it. It's a great way to build community and meet new neighbors. For more information, contact Ann and George Mech at firstname.lastname@example.org. They hope to see you there.
The Lime Kiln Middle School students of the week for the week ending March 8 were Kayla Smith, Anmol Bal, Sydney Morson, Ian Adamczyk, Taylor Spillman, Lylah Uttamsingh and Jonathan Stark. Congratulations. Keep up the great work.
Sonia Goyal is the Fulton Elementary School spelling bee winner. Next up: the regional spelling bee at Reservoir High School.
The fifth annual Maple Lawn Half-Marathon is May 11. More information is available at http://www.mdhalfmarathon.com. I'll have more information about this race in the upcoming columns. Stay tuned.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
