The Youth Ministry of St. Louis Catholic Church in Clarksville presents the 33rd annual Italian Dinner on March 9 from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Dining takes place in the school auditorium. This is an awesome community event and the food is excellent. As in the past, there will be a garden salad, spaghetti with sauce and homemade meatballs or lasagna, garlic bread, homemade desserts and beverages (soft drinks, coffee and tea).
Your maître d', as always, is Pat Sprankle, the director of youth ministries for the parish, and your servers will be the youths of the parish.
Tickets for this scrumptious dinner are $10 per adult, $5 per child (ages 10 and under), $12 for lasagna and $15 for a combo plate of both spaghetti with meatballs and lasagna. Come early to beat the dinner rush, which usually occurs between 4 and 6 p.m.
As in years past, the proceeds from the dinner help support the youth ministries of the parish. If you need more information, give a call to 410-531-6668. I hope to see you there.
Also up the road in Clarksville, the River Hill High School Theatre Arts Department is putting on a production called "The Drowsy Chaperone", a comic "show within a show" Broadway musical sure to be a laugh-out-loud experience for the whole family. The musical "tells the tale of a modern-day musical theater fanatic, known as the Man in Chair, listening to and narrating his favorite 1928 musical comedy, 'The Drowsy Chaperone'."
Directed by Theatre Arts teacher Pam Land, the show is co-choreographed by dance teacher Jenn Hennessie, local professional dance teacher Kassi Mattera and student Sarah Land.
Show dates are March 6, 7 and 8 at 7 p.m. with a 2 p.m. matinee on March 9 in the school auditorium. Tickets are $10 in advance (and can be purchased online at http://www.seatyourself.biz/rhhs) and $12 at the door, unless you also bring a nonperishable (and not-expired) food item: then the ticket will only cost you $10. The box office will open 90 minutes before curtain. For more information, contact Pam Land at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone: 410-313-7120.
The Lime Kiln Middle School students of the week for the week ending Feb. 21 are Darryl Suber, Eugene Choi, Anmol Bol, Andrea Smith, Jillian Weinman, Haydn Kozak and Rhea Senthil Kumar.
Try to look past all the snow and think spring. And with spring comes mulching. And Boy Scout Troop 702 of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Highland has mulch, lots of it.
The high quality mulch comes in black or brown and for $4.50 a bag, you can't go wrong. Delivery is free within a 10-mile radius (minimum four-bag order) and the Scouts will deliver it right to your house and stack it for you. Delivery date is Saturday, March 29. Contact Ted Evans at 301-854-0370 or email@example.com to have a Boy Scout contact you.
