Three teams put their culinary skills to the test at the Howard County Fair's Thursday evening Iron Chef competition.
Alba's Army, a group from the Howard County Recreation and Parks department, took home first place with their southwestern style steaks, grilled potatoes and vegetable-stuffed squash.
"We're very excited about that, and a little bit surprised," said Tom Ghirardelli, the group's leader. "We had a lot of fun."
Team 42 S'mores took home the crowd favorite prize, and Rolling Veggies celebrated the award for cooking the best steak.
"It didn't go exactly as we had thought," said Ray Hall of team Rolling Veggies. "Hopefully if we come back next year, we'll be a lot more prepared than we were this year."
