Centennial battled back, including scoring a run in the final inning, before falling just short. The Eagles’ got doubles from Jordan Burk and Emily Bowman, along with triples from Camryn Allen and Sammy Kastner to highlight their offensive effort.

Emily Allen and Celina Jensen each had RBI.

“Glenelg is a good team and I’m pleased with the performance and efforts the girls put together today,” Centennial coach Katie Grimm said.

Gina Netreba got the start and pitched into the seventh inning, striking out eight. Colleen Regan came on late to record the save with a pair of strikeouts.

River Hill 6, Long Reach 3

Kristy Selby had a solid day on the mound, striking out nine and walking none. Her performance, combined with big hits from Caroline Hickey (double), Sara Mascone (2 doubles) and Courtney Colosimo (triple), helped the Hawks to the victory.

Emily Forbus and Abby Bakunas led Long Reach with two singles apiece, while Christina Doshim came through with a single, double and 2 RBI.

There were five Raiders that had multi-hit games, including senior catcher Maya Schwartz going 3-4 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Senior Kaya Roberts (2-3, run), junior Amanda Petersen (2-2, walk, double, 2 RBI and 3 runs), freshman Allison Orlosky (2-3, 2 RBI, run) and sophomore Miranda Thompson (2-2, SAC and 2 RBI) were the other standouts.

Senior pitcher Alex Herschman earned her third win of the year with five strikeouts around only one walk.
