AirPatrol to expand in Howard County

AirPatrol Corp., a Columbia-based cybersecurity firm that focuses on wireless and mobile systems, will relocate its headquarters to Maple Lawn Corporate Center park in Howard County and expand, the Howard County Economic Development Authority announced late Wednesday.

The growing company's offices currently are on Broken Land Parkway, a few miles away from the new development in Fulton.

AirPatrol considered other options in Maryland and Virginia, the authority said in a news release.

"As a growing technology company, AirPatrol Corporation needed a space able to meet our global headquarters' high tech and premium requirements," said AirPatrol CEO Cleve Adams in a statement.

Howard County Executive Ken Ulman welcomed AirPatrol's decision to remain in the county, which, he said, "has become an important location for firms working on mobile and cyber security solutions."

Details about the expansion were not disclosed in the release, which came out after the close of business.
