The fall 2013 West Laurel Hotline is hot off the presses. Every home in West Laurel should have received it by now. The Hotline is full of very important and interesting community information, and is distributed by the West Laurel Civic Association.
The Hotline announces the fall general membership meeting on Thursday, Oct. 17 at 7:30 p.m. at the West Laurel Community Building. You can pay membership of $15 per household at the meeting if you wish or mail a check, payable to the West Laurel Civic Association, to Susan Railey, treasurer, 16922 Melbourne Drive, Laurel, MD 20707.
Mark your calendars for Dumpster Day, hosted by the WLCA, which will return on Nov. 16.
Back-to-School in West Laurel was rockin'! Bond Mill Elementary students and families kicked up their heels to famous hits like Party in the USA and the Hokey Pokey. This Bond Mill PTO fundraiser and celebration of the new school year pulled in the crowds. Moms, dads, students and their siblings all danced the night away in true Bond Mill spirit.
The Bond Mill Elementary Craft Fair will be held on Saturday, Nov. 23, the weekend before Thanksgiving. This is the time to reserve a table to sell your wares and crafts. Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis and the tables are going quickly. Tables are $25 and $35 each to rent. For more information, call Bond Mill Elementary at 301-497-3600.
The Laurel Senior Friendship Club is hosting a Fall Craft Show on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Laurel-Beltsville Senior Activity Center at 7120 Contee Road, behind Laurel Regional Hospital. Enjoy the company of neighbors and friends and do some shopping at the craft tables. Have a bite to eat and dessert at the bake sale. The Laurel-Beltsville Senior Activity Center offers many programs including fitness, ceramics, woodworking, dancing, computer labs and more.
