The deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 5 Laurel City Council elections is Monday, Oct. 7.
Laurel residents who live within the city limits can vote in city elections, which this year will elect five City Council members, two from each city ward and one at-large. Voters can only vote for the candidates running in their own ward; but all residents can vote for the at-large Council member.
Elections for the mayor's seat are held every four years, and will be held in November 2015.
To register to vote, contact the Prince George's County Board of Elections at 301-430-8020, or go to princegeorgescountymd.gov.
Polls with be open on Tuesday, Nov. 5, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Ward 1 residents will vote at the Laurel Municipal Center, 8103 Sandy Spring Road; and Ward 2 residents will vote at the Robert J. DiPietro Community Center, 7901 Cypress St.
Early voting will be held Saturday, Nov. 2, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Laurel Municipal Center.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
