Teenagers who are Laurel residents can apply for the sixth annual Mayor's Summer Jobs Program, and earn money while gaining work experience this summer.
Deadline for applications is 5 p.m. Friday, May 9.
To be eligible, teens must be between the ages of 14 and 16 on the first day of the program, June 23. The program runs through Aug. 15.
Applicants must submit an application, most recent report card and written permission from a parent or guardian. Teens who are hired must also provide a work permit from their school's guidance office
Work schedules vary, but do not exceed 20 hours a week. Students are paid $7.25 an hour.
Among the 12 positions offered are jobs in the mayor's office, Laurel Department of Parks and Recreation and Laurel TV.
Applications are available at the Laurel Municipal Center, 8103 Sandy Spring Road, and can be downloaded at cityoflaurel.org. All qualified applicants will be interviewed.
