Seniors start season at breakfast with council member Mary Lehman [South Laurel/Montpelier]

Season's greetings to all South Laurel/Montpelier residents! Council member Mary Lehman, who represents District 1 on the Prince George's County Council, hosted a rousing kickoff of the holiday with her third annual Senior Appreciation Breakfast for seniors in our community. The breakfast was held Dec. 6 at the Laurel-Beltsville Senior Activity Center and provided a morning of fellowship and learning for seniors in her district. More than 120 attendees heard center director Marybeth Dugan describe the many activities, classes and celebrations held at the facility. Lehman reviewed some of her accomplishments in representing our district and distributed a flier outlining services provided to county residents. There was vocal entertainment and an inspiring talk focusing on the importance of a positive approach to aging, not to mention an excellent and totally filling breakfast. A great beginning to the festivities of the season.

Even as we relish the many activities associated with the holiday celebrations, it is not too early to begin pondering our New Year's resolutions and seeking out venues to accomplish them.
