Two paper shredding events are scheduled this weekend to help residents and businesses recycle unwanted paper, or destroy sensitive materials.
City residents and businesses can bring paper products to the Public Works Facility, 305-307 First St., on Saturday, April 20 from 8 a.m. to noon. PNC Bank is sponsoring the paper shredding, which will be performed by Office Shredding document destruction company. Residents can also bring cardboard boxes and other recyclable containers, which will be collected in trucks.
Proof of residency must be shown, and businesses must be able to confirm their location within the city. The city's paper shredding event will also include a chance to recycle electronic items, such as computer monitors and CPUs; CD, DVD and VCR players; radios; printers; keyboards; and televisions. Unicor Recycling Business Group is holding the event with the city. For information, call Laurel Public Works at 30-725-0088 or go to laurel.md.us.
Exit Right Realty will also offer a paper shredding opportunity at its Community Shred Day, Saturday, April 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 8730 Cherry Lane, Suite 16.
Community Shred Day is limited to paper recycling, and there is no city residency required. For information, call 301-362-4500 or go to exitrightrealty.com.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
