As the holidays are fast approaching, giving the gift of time and service by volunteering to help support your favorite charity will make a difference in many ways. The Volunteer Center for Anne Arundel County has a Holiday Volunteer Guide now available for free listing various volunteer opportunities and donation needs through December. You can obtain a copy by visiting the Volunteer Center at 2666 Riva Road, Suite 130, in Annapolis, or e-mail a request to firstname.lastname@example.org or download a free copy at VolunteerAnneArundel.org/Resources .
Speaking of the holidays, you can help make a child's Christmas a little brighter this year by stopping by the Russett Community Center located at 3500 Russett Common in Laurel to donate a new, unwrapped toy for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys For Tots program from Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Friday, Dec. 13. Let's all do our part to help make a difference this year.
Join Anne Arundel County Executive, Laura Neuman on Wednesday, Dec. 4 for a holiday-themed open house from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Arundel Center located at 44 Calvert St. in Annapolis. There will be musical performances by Anne Arundel County Public School students as well winter-themed +artwork on display. In addition, Holiday cards will be available to be signed to send to our troops serving abroad and donations of non-perishable canned goods will be accepted to help support the Anne Arundel County Food Bank. For more information, contact Ashley Ricker at 410-222-1241 or email@example.com.
And last but certainly not least, I thank all my family, friends and loyal readers for their support and wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
