On Saturday, May 4, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Green Committee is sponsoring its sixth annual Green Day Celebration, which is free at the Russett Community Center, surrounding parking lots and bathhouse. Green Committee members Jerry Lemmon, also a Watershed Steward, Michele Floam, Tim Reyburn, John Hansen and Gerri Hanus will be bringing you a fresh, expanded, entertaining and educational celebration. Anne Arundel County Waste Management, Maid Brigade, Brickman Landscaping Group, Patriot Mortgage and Solar, Chesapeake Climate Action Network and Watershed Stewards Academy are among the 30 exhibitors who will be on hand displaying their products and providing information on green technology and how we can reduce our carbon footprint. The piece de resistance is an opportunity to test drive hybrid and electric cars in the parking lot. If you've never test driven one, here's your chance. To end the celebration, stop by the bathhouse at 7 p.m. and watch two free movies, "Vanishing Bees" and a documentary on electric cars.
