The Laurel Police Department's annual National Night Out will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 6 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Granville Gude Park at Laurel Lakes.
National Night Out is held nationwide by police organizations to inform the public about drug prevention initiatives, neighborhood watch groups and other community police programs, as a way to forge a positive relationship between police and the communities they serve.
At the event, members of the Laurel Police and Laurel fire and rescue squads will demonstrate tactics, and there will also be activities for children.
