Lobby closed off, offices move during Municipal Center renovations

Because of construction at the Laurel Municipal Center, the front lobby is closed off and some offices have been relocated temporarily, city officials said this week.

Work began May 19. Enhancements under construction include a new window for paying bills in the main lobby; relocation of the passport processing office to the main lobby; and increased customer services in the reception area.

The budget and personnel office has moved across the hall, and a new reception area is immediately inside the front door of the Municipal Center, 8103 Sandy Spring Road. City officials said visitors to the should anticipate delays as all visitors are being escorted throughout the center during the renovations.

Construction is expected to be completed in early July.
