Riverfest organizer thanks those who helped with this year's festival [Letter]

The 2013 Riverfest committee extends tremendous gratitude to everyone who made this year's sunshine-filled festival so wonderful!

We had the most perfect weather with which to feature eight bands, three historical performances, all-day hayrides and food and vendors filling the river path. And we loved the costumes to support the theme.

Our corporate sponsors included the city of Laurel, Laurel Board of Trade and Maryland Milestones — all of whom also had booths, and we are ever appreciative.

This year, there was so much teamwork. Laurel city departments of Public Works, Parks and Rec and our favorite law enforcement officers were with us all day ensuring everything ran smoothly. The bands stayed to support and cheer each other on. Children took the stage with parents and grandparents playing along.

It was a wonderful day, and we thank each and every person who made it out and truly appreciate, so much, all the parties that worked together to make it a fun and seamless event this year.

We'll see you next year, riverside.
