Community involvement, service define candidate Carl DeWalt [Letter]

Laurel Leader

As a retired police officer for almost 30 years with the city of Laurel, I am proud to endorse Carl DeWalt, a dedicated and proven public servant, for the Ward 1 Council Seat.

Carl has been a trusted friend and a work colleague for 32 years and during those years he has demonstrated his commitment to the community through contributions to public projects, most notably, Carl testified in Annapolis on saving Laurel Regional Hospital, as a vocal supporter of saving the Laurel Train Station and he spearheaded the effort to create banners displaying heroes that have proudly served their country and community.

His tireless involvement in the community through Laurel Lions Club, Laurel Board of Trade and Special Olympics Maryland have demonstrated that he is a man of service and integrity, who truly wants the best for city of Laurel.

Carl also has a clear understanding of the need for a strong infrastructure. He believes good roads and essential services, protection of individual rights and support for local businesses make for healthy communities. Carl champions the idea that protecting our environment also means protecting our way of life now and for the generations to come. He has pledged to listen to and truly represent the interests of people in his district. This is evidenced in him taking the time and going door to door and hearing people’s concerns and interests.

Carl DeWalt has my unwavering support. It is time to return power to the voters. I urge voters in Ward 1 to take a step in the right direction: Vote, and let your voice be heard, Vote for Carl DeWalt.
