Three injured in Laurel car crash

Three people were injured Thursday in a collision involving a pickup truck and a sedan at the intersection of Gorman Avenue and Fifth Street in Laurel, according to Laurel police.

Laurel city spokeswoman Audrey Barnes said a blue pickup truck was trying to cross Gorman Avenue on Fifth Street when it collided with a dark blue sedan.

Photos from the scene sent out by Barnes on her Twitter account show the sedan completely flipped over and the truck against a nearby tree.

Barnes said Gorman Avenue at Fifth Street is closed, and that motorists should avoid the area.
