The city launches its seasonal boating rentals at Laurel Lakes and offers a day of entertainment at Granville Gude Park during this weekend's Lakefest, Saturday, May 3 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Entertainment will be provided on and off the stage in the park and includes a DJ, dance demonstrations, games, food, entertainers, hayrides, a moon bounce, police demonstrations and costumed characters.
Laurel Parks and Recreation offers paddle boat rentals at the Laurel Lakes boathouse on Saturdays and Sundays through September. Paddle boat rentals cost $5 for a half-hour, with a $5 deposit.
