Laurel nonprofits receive county Community Partnership Grants

Three nonprofit groups that offer programs to Laurel students were among groups countywide that received grants from the Prince George's County Community Partnership Grant Program for fiscal year 2013.

First Generation College Bound, which helps high school students achieve a college education, received $15,000; Lovely Ladies of Laurel mentoring group for girls received $10,000; and the Laurel Boys and Girls Club received $20,000.

County non-profits and religioius-based organizations received about $1.6 million in grants from this year's CPG program, according to county officials.
