College students from Laurel earn degrees, dean's list status

Benjamin Glass, of Laurel, graduated from Tufts University in Medford, Mass., with a bachelor's degree in quantitative economics magna cum laude; applied mathematics magna cum laude; and history magna cum laude. He was named to the spring dean's list.

Victoria Meyers and Kristina Clevinger, both of Laurel, were named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Virginia Tech, in Blacksburg, Va.

The following students from Laurel were named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Stevenson University, in Owings Mills: Kelsey Ahlquist, Kayla Black, Savannah Collins, Ethan Douglas, Mary Ellsworth, Thomas Janasek, Xuan Nguyen, Bryana Parlock, Lauren Speiser, Krysta Upshaw and Iris Valle.

Darren Smith, of Laurel, was named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, in Troy, N.Y.

Marie Ratchford, graduate of Laurel High School, Class of 2002, earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Criminology from Florida State University, in Tallahassee, Fla.
