Laurel city offices will be closed and refuse and recycling collections will be rescheduled on Monday, Oct. 14, in observance of Columbus Day.

In addition, the regularly scheduled City Council meeting, usually held the second Monday of the month, will be moved to Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 7 p.m. The City Council meets at the Laurel Municipal Center, 8103 Sandy Spring Road.

Monday's refuse and recyclables will be collected on Tuesday, Oct. 15, and Tuesday's collections will be made on Wednesday, Oct. 16. There is no change to Wednesday's commercial refuse or recycling collections.

Because of the holiday, no residential special pickup or yard debris collections will be made this week. The next special collection is on Wednesday, Oct. 23. To schedule a residential special pickup, contact the Department of Public Works at dpw@laurel.md.us or 301-725-0088.
