Participants who want to take the city's next Community Emergency Response Team training class should apply soon as the class is limited to 25 participants.
Scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, June 1 and 2, the CERT training instructs residents in how to prepare, respond and recover from emergencies and disasters. After being trained, participants can expect to be able to help not only themselves, but neighbors and friends during an emergency.
The CERT training class is being held by the city's Department of Emergency Services and the Prince George's County Office of Homeland Security. Classes begin at 8 a.m. both days and will be held at the Laurel Municipal Center, 8103 Sandy Spring Road.
