Even if Maryland fracking ban fails, Garrett County doesn't foresee a drilling boom

Laurel BNI Breakfast Chapter to host Networking Mixer and Visitors Day

The Laurel Breakfast Chapter of Business Network International Inc. will hold two events in September.

A Networking Mixer Monday will be hold Sept. 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Will's Home Decorating, 10508 Baltimore Ave., in Beltsville. Guest speaker Alexia Clincy, will speak on using Facebook and social media from 7 to 7:30 p.m.

Hors d'oeuvres and light refreshments will be provided; Fee for visitors is $5; no fee for Laurel BNI members.

The Laurel BNI Chapter will also hold a Visitor's Day, Thursday, Sept. 12 from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at Famous Dave's Restaurant, 14140 Baltimore Ave. Prince George's County business owners can learn how word-of-mouth marketing benefits local businesses. Visitors are encouraged to bring at least 50 business cards to share.

Last month, the Laurel BNI chapter donated $100 toward the school supplies given away at the city's Back to School Summer Jam.
