A Laurel landlord arrested Monday after allegedly injuring his tenant during a barricade situation was charged Tuesday with attempted murder and assault, according to city spokesman Pete Piringer.
Myung Koo Lee, 44, was charged with first-degree attempted murder, and first- and second-degree assault, Piringer said.
He is being held without bond at Prince George's County Detention Center, Piringer said.
Piringer said that at approximately 9 a.m. Monday, Laurel police were at the scene of an active barricade situation at the intersection of 10th Street and Turney Avenue.
Piringer said Lee and the victim, idenfitied as a 26-year-old man, reside in a home in the 1000 block of Turney Avenue. Piringer said after allegedly assaulting the victim with a small knife in the main part of the residence, Lee fled to his basement apartment and initially refused demands from Laurel police to come out.
Piringer said the attack appears unprovoked, although the case and the motive remain under investigation.
