Laurel man reports robbery on Laurel Fort Meade Road around midnight

A Laurel man told police he was robbed as he walked on Route 198, or Laurel Fort Meade Road, just after midnight Wednesday.

The victim told Anne Arundel County police he was walking in the 3500 block of Laurel Fort Meade Road around 12:08 a.m. when a man struck him in the back of the head with his fist and took an undisclosed amount of money and the victim's shoes.

The victim did not need medical treatment, police said.

Officers were unable to locate the man, but described him as a black man with a thin build, about 6-feet-tall, wearing a black jacket and dark pants.

A week earlier, two people at a bus stop in the 3500 block of Laurel Fort Meade Road were approached by a man with a handgun around 7 a.m. Jan. 2, who took a cell phone and money from one of the victims.
