Police report armed robbery of couple in Russett

A couple who told police they were waiting to see someone about renting an apartment in Russett were robbed by three men Thursday, and one man had a handgun.

Anne Arundel County Police said the armed robbery was reported around 6:30 p.m. June 13. A man and woman told police they were standing outside a building in the 3400 block of Holly Creek Drive, where they were to meet a man about obtaining an apartment.

The man they were meeting, and two other men, one with a handgun, robbed the couple, demanding the male victim lie down on the ground on his stomach and taking a wallet and two cellphones from his pockets.

Police said one robber fled in a red Ford Explorer, one fled in a black Mercedes SUV and the third ran away.
