Man robbed while selling shoes from car trunk in Russett

Police said a man was robbed while making a pre-arranged sale of shoes from the trunk of his vehicle early Friday in Russett.

Police said the strong arm robbery occurred around 6:25 a.m. at Faraway Hills and Scenic Meadow Drive, off Russett Green East. A 32-year-old man told police he had made arrangements earlier in the week to meet a male there for the purpose of selling him some shoes.

The two met as arranged and were discussing the sale, police said, when two teens arrived and began assaulting the shoe seller, while the original potential purchaser opened the vehicle's trunk and took three pairs of Nikes. All three assailants fled.

Police are looking for three black teens, which they described as follows: one teen is about 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds, wearing a black tank top, black sweat pants and blue, gray and purple Nike running shoes; a second teen is about 5 feet 6 inches, 140 pounds, with shoulder-length dreadlocks and wearing a white V-neck T-shirt and dark jeans; and a third teen is about 6 feet tall, 200 pounds, wearing a black stocking hat, black T-shirt and black sweat pants with white writing on the left side.
