Police report armed robbery at Laurel bus stop Thursday morning

Two people waiting at a bus stop in Laurel Thursday morning were approached by a man with a handgun, who robbed one of them, Anne Arundel County police said.

A woman told police that she and another person, not known to her, were waiting at a bus stop in the 3400 block of Laurel Fort Meade Road about 7 a.m. when a man with a handgun approached them and demanded money. Police said the robber took a cell phone and money from the unidentified victim, and nothing from the woman who reported the robbery.

Police were unable to locate the man, but described him as a black man wearing a gray jacket that was possibly leather, khaki pants and gray shoes, and who had his face covered with a black mask or hood.
