Laurel man arrested in midnight assault on Whiskey Bottom Road

A Laurel man was arrested and police are searching for a second man who fled from the scene after a 31-year-old man was robbed and assaulted just after midnight Wednesday near Whiskey Bottom Road.

Anne Arundel County Police charged Andrew Burks, of Laurel, with robbery, second degree assault and theft after police said he robbed the man and then began to assault him in the area of Yellow Flower and Whiskey Bottom roads around 12:12 a.m. July 3.

Laurel Police officers and U.S. Park Police helped canvas the area for another man seen running away from the scene. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
