Police arrest Laurel man after armed robbery on Laurel Fort Meade Road

Anne Arundel County police arrested one man and are looking for a second suspect after an armed robbery was reported Sunday evening off Laurel Fort Meade Road.

Officers arriving around 7:30 p.m. spoke with the victim, a 52-year-old man, who said he was approached by two males as he walked behind a business. The victim told police that one male held a handgun to his head while the second male searched his pockets; both males then fled with money taken from the victim, police said.

Police found four people nearby and the victim identified one of the group, Victor T. Cooper, 23, of Bogalusa Drive in Laurel, as one of the two suspects in the robbery. Cooper was charged with robbery, first degree assault and theft.

Police described the second suspect, who had the handgun, as a black male wearing a mask and dark clothing.
