It was tragic that a gunman opened fire on our Howard County police officers along Route 1. Officer Steven Houk was hit, but I am happy to report that he is home resting from his injuries and the suspect is in custody. If you wish to send Officer Houk a get well card, send it to HCPD, Office of the Chief, 3410 Court House Drive, Ellicott City, MD, 21043. We should all let our police and firefighters know how much we appreciate all they do for us.
