National Night Out Against Crime is coming Tuesday, Aug. 6. It is a night that we gather together and meet local elected officials and police officers so that we can work together to control crime.
There are two events happening in our area. The first is at the North Laurel Community Center. There will be activities for all ages, safety tips, live music and ice cream from 6 to 9:30 p.m.
The Savage Community Association will also be celebrating National Night Out with its annual Ice Cream Social on Aug. 6 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Baldwin Common, 9035 Baltimore St.
North Laurel resident Jaire Dorsey is determined to be prepared for his career, even if he is only going into his junior year of high school this fall.
Jaire attended a seven-day course at Susquehanna University this summer in business leadership. The program, Leadership Institute for Entrepreneurship offered Jaire a look into the decision-making issues connected to business.
The students were divided up into small teams that learned about company policy, marketing, product development, market research, pricing and production. Seems we have a future business leader in our area.
