Girl Scouts earn silver awards tackling obesity issue [North Laurel/Savage]

Natalie Perkins, Jessica Rozo and Rebecca Harding are three very impressive girls. They have just earned their silver awards in Girl Scouts by working on the issue of childhood obesity.

The girls were concerned that children who have issues with obesity are bullied and have issues with their self image. They worked with Mount Washington's Weight Smart Program to learn more about this issue, held a workshop on healthy eating habits, held a taste tasting of healthy foods and also created guides on stress eating, ways to get active, making smarter choices, healthy snacks and healthy meal ideas.

These girls are trying to impact their generation by helping them learn how to take care of their health. All three girls are part of Girl Scout Troop 1508. Great job!
